Seventh Generation.
lived at 97 East 20th Street, New York, till 1858; at Milford, Conn., till 1864; and then moved to Nassau Street, Brooklyn, N. Y., where she died 9 Oct. 1870, without children. She was buried in the Old Cemetery at Milford. He was living at 200 West 20th Street, New York, in Dec. 1875.
2881 IV. William Scofield, died at birth, and was buried in the family cemetery at Stamford, Conn.
2882 V. Hannah Mills Scofield, b. at Stamford, Conn., 18 Ap. 1821; married, 1 Nov. 1840, in the old Sand Street M. E. Church, Brooklyn, N. Y., Edmund Brown, Jr., a farmer, who was born in Stamford. They dwelt in Stamford till 1844; at Mamaroneck, N. Y., till 1845; and then moved to Cleveland, Ohio. She died, 21 Ap. 1847, at 22 Spring Street, New York, while visiting her sister, Mrs. Caroline Elizabeth (Scofield) Fink, and was buried in New York Bay Cemetery. Her friends last knew of him as living at, or near, Cold Spring, Long Island, N. Y. 8165
2883 VI. George Washington Scofield, b. at Stamford, Conn., 12 Ap. 1823; went to Unadilla, N. Y., in 1835; and thence, in 1846, to Natchez, Miss., where he died unmarried, of yellow fever, 6 Ap. 1849, and was buried. He was a studious and promising youth, and is said to have been master of seven languages at the time of his death.
2884 VII. Harriet Emily Scofield, b. at Stamford, Conn., 26 Ap. 1825; married, 7 Oct. 1856, in the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, in 29th Street, New York, by Rev. G. R. Houghton, D. D., to William Wirt Saxton, a lawyer, son of Luther Calvin and Lucy (Crafts) Saxton, of Cooperstown, N. Y., where he was born 22 Feb. 1828. They dwelt in Cincinnati, Ohio, till 1857; in Cooperstown, till 1860; in New York City, till 1862; in Mott Haven, N. Y., till 1870; in New York again, till 1874; and then moved to Stamford, where they were living in Nov. 1875. 8167
2885 VIII. Sylvanus Scofield, died at birth, and was buried in the family cemetery at Stamford, Conn.
2886 IX. Sarah Elizabeth Scofield, b. at Stamford, Conn., 11 Jan. 1828; went with her mother, in 1831, to New York City; and was living there, unmarried, in Nov. 1875, at 113 West 34th Street, with her eldest sister, Mrs. Fink, with whom she has dwelt since the death of her mother.
2887 X. John Scofield, died at birth, and was buried in the family cemetery at Stamford, Conn.
