VI. Thomas Aaron Whitney, b. near Dykeman's, in Southeast, N. Y., 20 Feb. 1805; married by Elder John Warren, Baptist, in Carmel, N. Y., 28 Oct. 1838, to Naomi Jane Dykeman, born at Patterson, N. Y., 19 March 1820, dau. of Jesse and Phebe (Russell) Dykeman. He settled at Peekskill, N. Y., in 1826; has been teacher, trader, underwriter, and, for more than twenty years, a magistrate. She died in Peekskill, 27 March 1870, and is buried in Cortlandt Cemetery, about two miles north of Peekskill. He was married (2d), by Rev. Christopher Rhodes, at 32 Second Street, New York, 5 Oct. 1870, to Susan Elizabeth Newman, of Hoboken, N. J., born at Stanwich, in Greenwich, Conn., 14 Sept. 1827, dau. of Harvey and Elizabeth (Pardee) Newman, and widow of Albert Adolphus Dykeman. They lived on the corner of James and Orchard Streets, Peekskill, in 1874.

VII. Washington Silas Whitney, twin, b. at Franklin, now Patterson, N. Y., 7 May 1807; a trader in Peekskill and New York City, and, for ten years, the proprietor of Lovejoy's Hotel, Park Row, New York; married Nancy Maria Horton, born at Philipstown, now Putnam Valley, N. Y., about 1820, dau. of Jasper and Phebe (Owen) Horton. He died in Yonkers, N. Y., 29 Ap. 1865; and was buried in Cortlandt Cemetery, two miles north of Peekskill, where a granite monument has been erected to his memory. She lived at the Hoffman House, in New York City, in 1874. He was a trader in Peekskill, for several years; then built a foundery, and carried on that business for some time; and afterward went to New York City, where he kept a large stove store for several years, besides engaging in other branches of business.

VIII. Nancy Ann Whitney, twin, b. at Franklin, now Patterson, N. Y., 7 May 1807; married at Peekskill, N. Y., 16 Dec. 1830, Levi Owen, a farmer, born at Philipstown, now Putnam Valley, N. Y., in June 1800, son of Levi and Sarah (Sherwood) Owen. He settled at Putnam Valley; went to Michigan to look for a new home; died there, at Superior, six miles north of Ypsilanti, 16 Sept. 1848; and was buried at Superior. She married (2d), at Putnam Valley, 20 Aug. 1865, Gilbert Drew, born in Putnam Co., N. Y., 22 Feb. 1794, son of Isaac and Sarah (Ferris) Drew. She lived in Putnam Valley in 1873.
