Mary Shepard (Eleanor³ Whitney, Joshua², John¹), daughter of Samuel and Eleanor³ (Whitney) Shepard, born 11 Aug 1703, Plainfield, CT, and died 5 Mar 1731/32, at age 28.

She married, 14 Jun 1722, Canterbury, CT, Jacob Johnson, son of Obadiah and Rebeckah (Brooks) Johnson, as his first wife. He was born 16 Mar 1699, Canterbury, CT, and died on 29 Jan 1738/39, at age 39. He married secondly, 8 May 1734, Judith Haynes.

i.	Samuel Johnson, b. 3 Sep 1723, Preston, CT; m. 26 Mar 1745, Preston, CT, Abigail Meach, daughter of John, Jr., and Sarah (Hutchins) Meach.

iii.	Joseph Johnson, b. 12 Aug 1730.
iv.	Jacob Johnson, b. 3 Dec 1731; d. circa 1794, Sheffield, MA; m. Achsah -----.
