Aaron7 Whitney (David6, Nathan5, David4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of David6 and Elizabeth (Barron/Barnes/Barns) Whitney, was born 1 May 1800, Westminster, MA,[1] and died 8 Sep 1886, Pettaconsett, RI, aged 86 years., of drowning.[2]

He married, 3 Jan 1823, Westminster, MA, Mary "Polly" Raymond,[3] daughter of Jonathan and Patty (Downs) Raymond. She was born 1798, and died 11 Sep 1850, Westminster, MA, aged 52 years 1 months 21 days, of consumption.[4]

Aaron Whitney, son of Deacon David and Elizabeth (Barron) Whitney, married Polly (Martha), daughter of Jonathan and Patty (Downs) Raymond, 2 Jan 1822, and settled with his family on the ancestral estate, coming into possession of the northeast part of the farm, with the corresponding section of the ancient dwelling house in which he lived. He was a quite, unpretending man, of excellent habits and character, and an estimable neighbor and citizen. His death occured by drowning, at Pettaconsett, RI, whither he had gone not long before to visit his son Frederic. He resided Westminster, MA.

Sweetser says the following:[5]

"Whitney, Aaron7, s. of Dea. David6 and Elizabeth (Barron) Whitney, m. Polly (Martha) (14), dau. of Jonathan and Patty (Downs) Raymond, Jan. 2, 1822, and set. with his f. on the ancestral estate, coming into possession of the N.W. part of the farm, with the corresponding section of the ancient dwelling house in which he lived. He was a quiet unpretending man, of excellent habits and character, and an estimable neighbor and citizen. His death occurred by drowning, at Pettaconsett, R. I., whither he had gone not long before to visit his s. Frederic, Sept. 8, 1886, at the age of 86. His w., Martha, d. many years before, Sept. 11, 1850, a. 52."

iv. Stillman Whitney, b. 11 Apr 1833;[11] m.(1) Julia Moulton; m.(2) Mary Moulton; m.(3) ----- -----.
v. Emily Whitney, b. 1836; m. 11 May 1865, Worcester, MA, Dr. Isaac Tabor, b. ca. 1817, Smithfield, RI, son of Isaac and Hannah (-----) Tabor;[12] resided California; 7 ch.
vi. Susan Adelia Whitney, b. 3 Dec 1840; d. 24 Nov 1875, Westminster, MA, aged 34 years 11 months 21 days, of suicide by morphine.[13]
