Albert M.6 Whitney (Ebenezer5, Jason4, Mark3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Ebenezer5 and Joanna (Law) Whitney, was born 16 Jan 1836, Natick, MA,[1] and was killed in the Rebellion, .

He married, Marilla B. Wentworth, daughter of David and Charlotte (Corson) Wentworth. She was born 9 Mar 1836, Farmington, NH, and died 17 Apr 1910, Alton, NH.[2] She married secondly, 5 Aug 1866, Farmington, NH, Albert C. Shaw.[3]

He enlisted 9 Aug 1862, aged 26, as a Private in Co. I, 10th New Hampshire Infantry, enrolled 4 Sep0 1862, mustered out 13 Dec 1862, Fredericksburg, VA [Register of Soldiers and Sailors of New Hampshire 1861-65].[4]

On 27 Apr 1866, his widow Marilla B. Whitney applied for a pension based on his service in Co. I, 10th New Hampshire Infantry, Application No. 175,772, no certificate number.[5]

On 9 Oct 1868, his widow, now M. B. Shaw, on behalf of his children, applied for a pension based on his service in Co. I, 10th New Hampshire Infantry, Application No. 166,362, Certificate No. 126,380.[6]
