Benjamin Whitney, parentage unknown, was born about 1794, CT, and died after 1870.

He married, 3 Nov 1826, Wilton, CT, Amelia Mead, "both of Wilton",[1] daughter of Samuel and Eleanor (Roscoe) Mead. She was born 23 Apr 1806, CT, and died after 1870.

ii. David Whitney, b. 25 Mar 1828, Norwalk, CT.
iii. Charles W. Whitney, b. 18 Jan 1832, Norwalk, CT.
iv. Polly Whitney, b. 26 Jan 1834, Norwalk, CT.
v. Noble Lyon Whitney, b. 23 Apr 1836, Norwalk, CT; m. Mary Eliza Hawley.
vi. George Whitney, b. 3 Aug 1839, Norwalk, CT. Probably the same as George B. Whitney, b. 18 Aug 1839; m. Joanna/Johanna "Josie" Stevens.
vii. Emily Whitney, b. 26 Jan 1841, Norwalk, CT.
viii. Luther M. Whitney, b. 29 Jan 1843, Norwalk, CT; m. Rhuama -----.

Notes

He may or may not be identical to Benjamin Whitney of Wilton who married before 1814, Abigail Fancher. If they are the same, Abigail would be his first wife and Amelia the second.
