Charles Henry9 Whitney (Charles H.8, David7, Isaac6, Abner5, Jonas4, Eleazer3, Thomas2, John1), son of Charles H.8 Whitney and Mary Ann Banks, was born 4 Sep 1864, Hanover Co., VA, died 1948, Clearwater Beach, FL, and buried Bay Pines National Cemetery.[1]

He married four or five times.

He married firstly, about 1900, ----- -----. She died before 1902. She is known only from the fact that the 1910 census calls Agnes his second wife.

He married secondly, 1902, Agnes (Clark)(-----) -----. She was born about 1872, PA, and died after 1910. The names of her first two husbands are unknown. She had had two children, but by which husband is unknown, and both died before 1910.

He married thirdly, Edna M. Rineheart. She was born 1874, PA.

He enlisted 8 Jun 1894, Willits Pt., NY, for 5 years. He was born Hanover Co., VA; aged 29 years; occupation cook; eyes blue; hair dark brown; complexion dark; height 5' 8"; Co. B Engineers; discharged 7 Sep 1897, G.O. 80, A.Y.O. 90, Willets Point, NY; private.

He re-enlisted 19 Feb 1898, Ft. Wadsworth, NY, for 3 years. He was born Hanover Co., VA; aged 33 years 6 months; occupation cook; eyes blue; hair dark brown; complexion dark; height 5' 8"; Co. E 5th Artillery; last in Co. B Engineers until 7 Sep 1897; discharged 18 Feb 1901 at Ft. Hancock, NJ; cook.

He served as a cook in Co. E, 5th Artillery, U.S. Army, stationed at Fort San Cristobal, Puerto Rico, in 1900.

He re-enlisted 20 Feb 1901, New York, NY, for 3 years. He was born Hanover Co., VA; aged 36 years 5 months; occupation soldier; eyes blue; hair dark brown; complexion dark; height 5' 8"; Co. C 16th Infantry; last in Co. E 5th Artillery; discharged 19 Feb 1904 at Ft. Slocum, NY; cook.
