David E. Whitney (Royal) son of Royal and Lydia A. (Kirby) Whitney, was born 13 May 1846, Warren Co., OH, and died 13 Dec 1928, Salem, OH, aged 82 years 7 months 0 days, of hemorrhage.[1]

He married firstly, 10 Oct 1872, Warren Co., OH, Amanda B. Hagerman,[2] daughter of John and Martha Jane (Bunnell) Hagerman. She was born 7 Nov 1851, Warren Co., OH, and died 8 Feb 1911, Blackcreek, OH.

He married secondly, 8 Feb 1912, Celina, Mercer Co., OH, Amelia J. (Hankins) Miller, daughter of Timothy Linwood and Cynthia E. (Rider) Hankins.[3] She was born 22 Jul 1853, Van Wert Co., OH, and died 2 Jul 1935, Mendon, OH. She had married, 28 Oct 1871, Mercer Co., OH, George Merle Miller (1849–1899).

v. Ada Whitney, b. 1887, Mercer Co., OH; d. 1887, Mercer Co., OH.
vi. Glenard William Whitney, b. 5 Dec 1890, Center, OH; d. 1925, MI; m. 3 Aug 1920, Detroit, MI, Marie I. Mazier (1899–1983).

David E. and Amelia J. (Hankins)(Miller) Whitney had no children.
