Frank Drury8 Whitney (John Drury7, Ebenezer6, Micah5, Abel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of John Drury7 and Eldusty (Peary) Whitney, was born 9 Jan 1871, Freeman, ME, and died 23 Aug 1955, Reading, MA.

He married 8 May 1894, Narragansett Pier, RI, Kate Olivia Coggesshall, daughter of Jonathan L. and Abbie P. (Sennett) Coggesshall. She was born 13 Sep 1873, Narragansett Pier, RI, and died 29 Sep 1950, Wakefield, MA.

He died at the Cotton Nursing Home, Reading, MA, but was a resident of Wakefield, MA at the time of his death. He is buried at Riverside Cemetery, Wakefield, Rhode Island.

Obituary: Wakefield Daily Item, 14 Aug 1955:

Frank Drury Whitney, 84, a retired hearse livery man, former owner of a lodging house and restaurant, passed away Tuesday morning at a Reading convalescent home following a long illness. He had been a resident of Wakefield for 56 years.
Born Jan. 1, 1871, in Freeman, Maine, he was the son of John Drury and Eldusty (Peary) Whitney.
His wife, Mrs. Kate Whitney, passed away in September of 1950, after a short illness. In 1901, the couple purchased the Wakefield House and were engaged in the lodging house business for 32 years. During the first 16 years of this business they also operated a dining room on Mechanic Street. They moved to the Cooper St. Address in 1933.
Surviving Mr. Whitney is a granddaughter, Mrs. Richard F. (Norma) Cutter (sic) of Wakefield and three great grandchildren. A son, Everett D., passed away in 1951.
Funeral services will be held at the Morrison Funeral Home, 13 Yale Ave., Thursday at 3:30 PM. Friends may call at the funeral home, 13 Yale Ave, tomorrow at 3:30 PM. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9.
Interment will be held in the family lot in Riverside Cemetery, Wakefield, R.I., Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

He worked for Adams Express, and resided in Branford, Conn. at the time of his marriage. The marriage is recorded at the R.I Archives as occurring in the Narragansett District of R.I. The Whitney Family Bible records the marriage in Narragansett Pier, RI.

Obituary, Wakefield Daily Item, Monday, October 2, 1950:

Mrs. Frank D. (Kate Copggeshall) Whitney of 4 Cooper St., Greenwood, co-owner of the Wakefield House in Wakefield Square for 32 years, died Friday night at her home following a short illness.
Born Sept. 13, 1873 in Narragansett Pier, R.I., she was the daughter of Jonathan L. and Abbie L. (Sennett) Coggeshall.
In 1901 she and her husband purchased the Wakefield House and were engaged in that business 32 years. During the first 16 years of this business they also operated a dining room on Mechanic St. where Ma's Lunch presently is located. They moved to the Cooper St. address in 1933.
Mrs. Whitney was a member of the First Baptist Church, Narragansett Pier, R.I., where she was organist for many years prior to her moving to Wakefield 50 years ago.
Besides her husband, a son, Everell D. Whitney also survives and a granddaughter, Mrs. Richard F. (Norma) Cotter, both of Wakefield. A brother, Fred J. Coggeshall of Narragansett, R.I., also survives.
Funeral services were held at the Morrison Funeral Home, 13 Yale Ave., this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. Walter Sheppard officiating.
Interment will be held at the Riverside Cemetery, Wakefield, R.I. tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon at 2 o'clock.
