George Whitney (Alexander P., John, Edward), son of Alexander P. and Hannah (Cook) Whitney, was born about 1853, ME.

Was probably the George Plummer Whitney, son of "Aleck and Sarah", born Dec 1854, ME, who married firstly, before 1883, Carrie Goodman [sic, should be "Carrie Lucelia Goodnow"], daughter of Elisha and Mary E. (Walker) Goodnow. She was born 1868, Sudbury, MA, and died 9 Jan 1884, Sudbury, MA, aged 20 years 8 months 26 days, of consumption.[1]

That man married secondly, 3 Jul 1886, Groton, MA, Nellie S. Dickinson, dau. of Joseph and Eliza (-----) Dickinson. She was born about 1864, Groton, MA.[2]

Children of George Plummer and Carrie Lucelia (Goodnow) Whitney:

i. Alvin Goodnow Whitney, b. 2 Mar 1883, Hamilton, ON; m. 28 Jul 1912, Washington, DC, Elsie Julia Gibson (1885–1970).

George Plummer and Nellie S. (Dickinson) Whitney, had no children.
