Harmon Wells7 Whitney (Nehemiah6, Walter5, Samuel4, Richard3, John2, Henry1), son of Nehemiah6, was born 22 Feb 1820, Meredith, NY, and died after 1880.

He married, 25 Oct 1842, Ogdensburgh, NY, Mary Ann Roberts, daughter of John and Sarah (Cashion) Roberts. She was born 27 Mar 1817, Malone, NY, and died after 1880.

Phoenix says the following:

". . . a cutter and engraver of marble . . . . He settled in Ogdensburgh; and about 1850, moved to Pontiac, Mich., where they lived for two years. They then dwelt in Flint, Mich., for eight years; in Lansing, Mich., about ten years; and in 1870, moved to Albion, Mich., where they were living in 1874."

i. Eliza Ann8 Whitney, b. 4 Sep 1843, Cornwall, Canada West; m. 4 Oct 1869, Lansing, MI, Lemuel Cornelius Fryant, son of Charles and Sarah Catharine (Smith) Fryant, b. 15 Jan 1846, Waterville, OH; a machinist. He enlisted at Jackson, MI, 4 Jan 1864, in Company E, 3d Regiment, Michigan Cavalry; and was discharged at San Antonio, TX, 12 Feb 1866, having served chiefly in Arkansas, Texas, and the west. They were living at Streator, IL, in 1874.
ii. Clarissa Matilda Whitney, b. 10 Jan 1846, Ogdensburgh, NY; m. 12 Nov 1867, Lansing, MI, Adam Henry Clippenger, son of Humphrey and Sarah Ann (DeJacques) Clippenger, b. 30 Apr 1847, Lima, OH, 30 Apr 1847; a baker. He enlisted at Lima, 28 Mar 1862, in Company H, 32d Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry; and was discharged 29 Aug 1865, having taken a part in General Sherman's march to the sea. They were living at Albion, MI, in Sep 1874.
iii. George Newton Whitney, b. 16 Oct 1848, Ogdensburgh, NY; d. 28 Jun 1849, Ogdensburgh, NY, where he was buried.
iv. Sarah Jane Whitney, b. 31 Mar 1850, Ogdensburgh, NY; m. 18 Apr 1871, Albion, MI, George Howard, son of James and Martha (Greenfield) Howard, b. 1 Jan 1850, Albion, a dealer in cattle. They were living at Albion in Sep 1874.
