Family:Whitney, Hiram Smith (1807-a1880)

Hiram Smith⁶ Whitney (Henry⁵, Henry⁴, Henry³, John², Henry¹), son of Henry⁵ and Ruth (St. John) Whitney, was born 24 Jun 1807 (twin), at Fairfield, VT, and died after Apr 1873.

He married, 3 Mar 1831, Otego, NY, Lucina Bovee, daughter of Matthias and Elizabeth (Wilson) Bovee. She was born 7 Jun 1805, Hoosick, NY, and died after Apr 1873.

Phoenix says the following:

"Hiram Smith Whitney, twin, b. at Fairfield, Vt., 24 June 1807; a farmer; married, 3 March 1831, at Otego, N.Y., by Elder Crane, Baptist, Lucina Bovee, dau. of Matthias and Elizabeth (Wilson) Bovee, of Hoosick, N.Y., where she was born, 7 June 1805. They have dwelt in Unadilla and Sidney, N.Y., and were living at Oneonta, N.Y., in Ap. 1873."

i.	Warren Winslow Wesler7 Whitney, b. 23 Mar 1832, Unadilla, NY; enlisted, 1861, in Grant Co., Wis., in Co. F, 7th Reg., Wis. Volunteers; d. 16 Dec 1862, Falmouth, VA, in hospital, and was buried there.
ii.	Theodore Legrand Whitney, b. 13 Aug 1833, Unadilla, NY; m. Mary Hine.
iii.	Harriet Minerva Whitney, b. 17 Mar 1835, Sidney, NY; m. Henry Wickham.
iv.	Phebe Lavinia Whitney, b. 26 Jul 1837, Unadilla, NY; m. Morrington Williams.
v.	Caroline Whitney, b. 26 Aug 1839, Unadilla, NY; was living at Oneonta, NY, in May 1875, unmarried.
vi.	Eliza Ann Whitney, b. 17 Apr 1841, Unadilla, NY; m. 27 Jul 1862, Oneonta, NY, James Quackenbush, son of Nicholas and Eleanor (Henderson) Quackenbush, b. 24 Mar 1832, Franklin, NY, a farmer, who dwelt in Oneonta at the time of his marriage. They resided Oneonta, May 1875, without children.
vii.	Henry Delos Whitney, b. 14 Aug 1846, Sidney, NY; m. Hannah Strait.
