James Irish7 Whitney (William6, Stephen5, Isaac4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of William6 and Mary Ann (Mayberry) Whitney, was born about 10 Sep 1839, Otisfield, ME, and died 5 Jun 1890, Milford (Hopedale), MA, aged 50 years 8 months 25 days, of deformens.[1]
He married, 28 Oct 1867, Milford (Hopedale), MA, Susan Eudora Thwing, daughter of Almon and Sarah A. (Darling) Thwing.[2] She was born 26 Jul 1847, Milford (Hopedale), MA, and died 21 Dec 1918.
He was a fish dealer.
James was a Civil War veteran. He and his widow received a pension from the U.S. government.

Spaulding, b. ca. 1870, son of Benjamin H. and Elvira D. (Ballou) Spaulding.[7]
