John Ebenezer8 Whitney (Edwin Leggett7, (Asa6, Ebenezer5, David4, Joseph3, John2, Henry1), son of Edwin Leggett7 and Joanna Eliza (Bicknell) Whitney, was born 20 Jan 1826, New York, NY, and died after 1900.

He was a dealer in stoves and tin-ware; resided New Canaan, CT, Feb 1869.

He married 24 Oct 1849, Bedford, NY, Mary Elizabeth Scribner, daughter of James William and Mary (Ford) Scribner. She was born 10 Mar 1830, New York, NY, and died between 10 Dec 1888, aged 59 years, New Canaan, CT.
