Family:Whitney, John L. (1850-1907)
John L.10 Whitney (John K.9, Oliver8, Oliver7, Silas6, David5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of John K.9 and Philura (Hubbard) Whitney, was born 12 Oct 1850, East Franklin, VT, and died 25 Dec 1907, Richford, VT, aged 57 years 2 months 13 days, of apoplexy.[1] He was buried in East Franklin Cemetery, East Franklin, VT.[2]
He married, 6 Feb 1875, East Franklin, VT, Annie E. Colcord, daughter of Henry C. and Lestina Elizabeth (Fletcher) Colcord.[3] She was born 14 Jan 1857, VT, and died after 1900. She was buried in East Franklin Cemetery, East Franklin, VT.[4]
John L. Whitney was reared on a farm and followed that occupation until about thirty years of age, since then has worked at carpenter work during the summer months and taught music during the winter; had the advantages of a good education; resided East Franklin, VT.
