John William8 Whitney (John William7, John6, Justus5, Daniel4, Richard3, John2, Henry1), son of John William7 and Rachel Matilda (Brooks) Whitney, was born 20 Mar 1832, 13 Plain Street Albany, NY, and died after 1880.

He married, Buffalo, NY, Jane Ann Slater. She was born about 1834, NY, and died after 1880.

They were living at East Swan Street, Buffalo, in Dec 1875; and had two children, names unknown.

Children of John William8 and Jane Ann (Slater) Whitney:

i. Edwin F.9 Whitney, b. ca. 1858, NY; d. after 1875; not in family in 1880.
ii. Ida Whitney, b. ca. 1868, NY or NJ; d. after 1880.
