Norman Gustavus8 Whitney (Jesse Bedient7, William6, Hezekiah5, Hezekiah4, Joseph3, John2, Henry1), son of Jesse Bedient7 and Hannah (Estabrook) Whitney, was born about 1836, VT. and died after 1880, said 1900, MN.

He married, Mariah Louisa Woods. She was born about 1843, VT.

He was a clergyman; served in Co. I, 7th Wisconsin Infantry, in the Civil War. He was wounded Gainesville, VA, 28 Aug 1862.

Enlisted from Wautoma, Waushara Co., WI, on 2 Aug 1861 as a Private. Discharged 13 Nov 1862 (disability). He was wounded 28 Aug 1862 at Gainesville, VA (Brawner's Farm)/

On 22 Jul 1866, he applied for a pension based on his service as a Private in Co. I, 7th Wisconsin Infantry.
