Otis Whitney, parentage unknown, was born 1802,[1] MA, and died in 1851.[2]

Marriage intentions were published 10 Aug 1826, Stow, MA, for him and Mary Puffer, "wid.".[3] He married 15 Oct 1826, Sudbury, MA, Mary (Lovering) Puffer,[4] daughter of Jonas and Mary (How) Lovering, and the widow of Jacob Puffer of Stow. She was born 5 Sep 1796,[5] Sudbury, MA, and died 14 Feb 1869, Somerville, MA, aged 73 years 5 months 9 days, of consumption.[6]

ii. Caroline M. Whitney, b. ca. 1831, Stow, MA; d. 25 May 1877, Grafton, MA, aged 46 years, of cancer;[9] m. (int. 8 Jan 1849, Stow, MA) Sawyer C. Austin.[10]
iii. Abigail Frances Whitney, b. 21 Oct 1835, Stow, MA; d. 22 Dec 1913, Worcester, MA; m.(1) 14 Feb 1851, Northborough, MA, Seth Temple, b. ca. 1825, d. 5 Sep 1870, Northborough, MA, son of Benjamin and Phebe (-----) Temple;[11] m.(2) 6 Sep 1871, Northborough, MA, Charles F. Hewett, b. ca. 1848, Rockland, ME, son of Hubbard and Janett (Barnes) Hewett.[12]
iv. Christopher Whitney, b. -----; "infant" d. -- --- 1840, Stow, MA.[13]

According to his daughter Abigail's death certificate, Otis was born in Stow, MA.
