Family:Whitney, Reason (1845-a1940)

Reason⁸ Whitney (James Davis⁷, Henry⁶, John⁵, Abraham⁴, Joseph³, John², Henry¹), son of James Davis⁷ and Hannah (Pugh) Whitney, was born 1 Dec 1845, Bloomfield, OH, and died after 1940, when residing in Bryan, Cotton Co., OK. He was buried in Devol Cemetery, Devol, OK.^[1]

He married firstly, 16 Mar 1870 or 1871, Harrison, OH, Sarah Ellen Moore, daughter of James and Happy (Cornell) Moore. She was born 7 Oct 1849, Harrison, OH, and died before 1900. She was buried in Low Gap Cemetery, Norborne, MO.^[2]

He married secondly, 27 Aug 1902, Carroll Co., MO, Elizabeth Jane (Hill) Cox, daughter of Benjamin W. and Nancy Ann (Hughey) Hill. She was born about Apr 1855, MO, and died 1923, Cotton Co., OK. She had married firstly, 14 Sep 1893, Chillicothe, MO, William Cox. She was buried in Devol Cemetery, Devol, OK.^[3]

They settled in Bloomfield, and were living there in 1873.
