Robert Whitney, parentage unknown, born sometime before 1610,[1] and was probably the "Robert Whittney" buried 25 Sep 1667, St. Margaret's Church, Westminster, England.[2]

He married, 1631, London Diocese (Bishop), Elizabeth Fletcher.[3] She was perhaps the Elizabeth Fletcher, dau. of Edward who was bp. 4 Mar 1610, St. Margaret's Church, Westminster, England.[4] She was perhaps the "Eliz: Whittney" who was buried 15 Jan 1670, St. Margaret's Church, Westminster, England.[5]

Robert and Elizabeth were involved in a lawsuit dated 1655 in which they were sued by John Gerrard of Oxford and his wife Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas and Anne Tarpley of Westminster. In this document, Robert Whitney is listed as being of Westminster and as being a tailor.[6]
