Thomas4 Whitney (Mark3, Benjamin2, John1), son of (Mark3 and Tabitha (Mellen) Whitney, was born 24 Jan or 24 Feb 1736, Hopkinton, MA.[1]

Marriage intentions were published 17 Sep 1761, Canton, MA for him "of Natick" and Mehetable Bacon "of Stoughton".[2] Marriage intentions were published 19 Oct 1761, Natick, MA for him and Mehetable Bacon "of Stoughton".[3] He "of Natick" married, 12 Nov 1761 at Canton, MA Mehetable Bacon "of Stoughton".[4] She was born circa 1740, possibly Stoughton, MA.

He appeared on the census of 1790 at Partridgefield, MA; 11-3-00, that is, one male 16+, one male 15-, and three females.

Pierce says the following:[5]

Thomas Whitney was born in Natick prior to 1769. He sold his rights in that town and emigrated to Westminaster. His farm he disposed of to David HANN, of Hopkinton. He served in the Revolutionary army and was in the company from Partridgefield.

i. Mehetable5 Whitney, b. 8 Aug 1762;[6] m. Samuel Lawton.
ii. Huldah Whitney, b. 20 Aug 1764.[7]
iii. Mark Whitney, b. 18 May 1766.[8]
He appeared on the census of 1790 at Pittsfield, MA; 10-2-00, that is, one male 16+ and two females.
iv. Esther Whitney, baptized 29 Nov 1767.[9]
