Thomas⁶ Whitney (Hezekiah⁵, Enoch⁴, Ebenezer³, Richard², John¹), son of Hezekiah⁵ and Olive (Knight) Whitney, was born 19 Apr 1779, Washington, CT,^[1] and died after Oct 1815.

He married, before 1815, ----- -----.

Note of Edward Raymond Sandiford/1941-1956: "Thomas Whitney was living at New Preston in October 1815 when a child of his, 7 mos. old, died. Recorded at church in New Preston."

• 1800, Washington, Litchfield Co., CT: Thomas Whitney, 1 male 16-25 and 1 female 16-25.
• 1810, Salisbury, Litchfield Co., CT: Whitney, Thomas, 1 male over 45, 1 male 10-15, 1 female over 45, 1 female 16-25, 2 females 10-15, and 1 female 0-9. The head of household is older than this Thomas, who was 31, but this may still be the right family.

Was one of his sons perhaps Pierpont Whitney (c1809-a1880)?
