Walter Harris8 Whitney (Isaac7, Cyrus6, Isaiah5, Isaiah4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Isaac7 and Dorcas Whitney (Hoar) Whitney, was born 1 Nov 1849, Littleton or Harvard, MA,{{ref|1} and died 27 Sep 1906,[1] Harvard, MA, aged 56 years 10 months 27 days, of cerebral hemorrhage.[2]

He married, 5 Dec 1879 [Pierce] or 4 Dec 1878, Acton, MA, Georgia Etta Tuttle.[3] She was born 9 Dec 1854, and died 17 Jul 1925, Acton, MA.[4]

He resided 103 Sycamore Street, Somerville, MA; was buried Acton, MA. He lived at home until 20 years of age, attending the regular district school. For two terms he was at the Westbrook, ME, academy. After this he began mercantile life in Worcester, MA; later he was at Harvard and So. Acton, and afterwards in business in Charlestown and Boston. Immediately following he engaged as book-keeper for a wholesale produce firm in Boston, where he remained for ten years. In 1884 he again began business for himself with a Mr. York, under the firm style of York & Whitney, wholesale produce commission business, No. 1 No. Market street, at the present time located as above. Their business has gradually grown from commencement, and at present time they rank among the larger dealers in this line of trade, handling shipments from 20 to 35 different states at different seasons of the year.

Walter Harris8 and Georgia Etta (Tuttle) Whitney had no children.
