Warner Spencer8 Whitney alias Warner Spencer (John Rodman7, William6, Thomas5, William4, William3, Joshua2, John1), son of John Rodman7 and Sallie (Spencer) Whitney, was born 15 Aug 1839 (twin), prob. in York, Medina Co., OH, and died 29 Dec 1912, Oak Park, IL.

He changed his name to Warren Spencer.

He married, 10 Dec 1864, Naomi Waite of Wellington, daughter of Levi O. and Sarah (Randall) Waite. She was born about 1838, VT, and died 3 Feb 1911, Cheshire, MI.

He was raised by Sylvia Spencer (either grandmother or else only a foster grandmother), in Camden, where she bought a ten acre farm in 1842 and which Warner Spencer sold in 1863. Warner took the name of Spencer and was ever afterward known by it. He moved to Michigan in 1866.

Children of Warner and Naomi (Waite) Spencer:

i. George W. Spencer, b. ca. 1866, OH; d. 1897; m. 25 Oct 1887, Allegan, MI, Electa Woodden.
ii. Amy Nett Spencer, b. Mar 1872, MI; m. 25 Dec 1892, Albert H. Flanegan.
