William Benjamin⁸ Whitney (Isaac⁷, Aaron⁶, Benjamin⁵, Joshua⁴, Cornelius³, Joshua², John¹), son of Isaac⁷ and Betsey Elizabeth (Nason) Whitney, was born 25 Jun 1845 or 1846, French Creek, NY, and died 6 Jan 1928, Wesleyville, PA.

He married firstly, 15 Jan 1870, Mary Ireland. She was born about 1844, co. Cumberland, England, and died 2 May 1873.

He married secondly, 29 Jul 1876, Waverly, IA, Alice Betsey Johnston. She was born Jan 1856, IL, and died 22 Jul 1945.

He was a farmer. He was in the war in the 112th New York Volunteers.
