William Foster Whitney (Jacob), son of Jacob and Elizabeth B. (Stretch) Whitney, was born about Mar 1826, Boston, MA, and died after 1920.

He married, 25 Jan 1853, Lynn, MA, Sarah Jane Currier, daughter of Charles M. and Sarah (Varnum) Currier.[1] She was born about 27 Oct 1831, Charlestown, MA, and died 14 Feb 1901, Lynn, MA, aged 68 years 3 months 17 days, of a cerebral hemorrhage.[2]

They lived in Lynn, MA, where he was a cordwainer and shoemaker. In 1910, after his wife's death, he lived with his daughter Sarah and her family in Lynn, and in 1920 with his granddaughter Mabel M. (Curtis) Decelle in Medford.

ii. Nancy Whitney, b. 20 Jan 1858, Saugus, MA; d. 30 Mar 1858, aged 2 months 10 days, of canker.[3]
iii. Sarah Elisabeth Whitney, b. 3 Sep 1860, Lynn, MA;[4] m. 9 Aug 1884, Lynn, MA, Frederick L. Curtis, b. ca. 1862, Lynn, MA, son of George A. and Mary (-----) Curtis.[5]
