William M.9 Whitney (Nathaniel B.8, Jonathan7, Jonathan6, Joseph5, Benjamin4, Joseph3, John2, John1), son of Nathaniel B.8 and Susan (Edwards) Whitney, was born 27 Nov 1839,[1] Westford, MA, and died 22 Nov 1901, Westford, MA, aged 61 years 11 months 22 days, of malignant disease of parotid glands, exhaustion.[2]

He married firstly, 5 Jun 1864, Lowell, MA, Amanda F. Hodgson, daughter of Aaron and Jane (Fitzsimmons) Hodgson.[3] She was born about 22 Feb 1838, South Berwick, ME, and died 12 Sep 1884, Westford, MA, aged 46 years 6 months 20 days, of pneumonia.[4]

He married secondly, 1 Nov 1885, Westford, MA, Annie M. Earle, daughter of Thomas and Mary (-----) Earle. She was born Mar 1861, ME or NH.[5]

i. (poss adopted?) Ida B.10 Whitney, b. ca. 1869, MA. Not found in 1870, but in family in 1880.

Children of William M.9 and Annie M. (Earle) Whitney:

ii. Allan Cameron10 Whitney, b. 4 Oct 1886, Westford, MA.[6]
iii. Frederick Smith Whitney, b. 26 Jun 1892, Westford, MA;[7] d. 18 May 1898, Westford, MA, aged 5 years 10 months 22 days, of basilar meningitis.[8]
