John Johnston3 Widney (John2, John1), son of John2 and Mary (Henderson) Widney, was born 20 May 1838, Washington, OH, and died 31 Aug 1886, Lisbon, IL.

He married, 15 Mar 1869, New Lenox, Will Co., IL, Emily A. Van Duser, daughter of George W. and Elmina (Mellen) Van Duser. She was born 28 Jul 1842, New Lenox, IL, and died 10 Sep 1915.

Both are buried in Aux Sable Cemetery, Minooka, IL.

Obituary:

Died, at the old Widney homestead, in Lisbon Township, Kendall county, on Tuesday, August 31, 1886, John J. Widney, aged 49 years, 3 months and 11 days.
Mr. Widney removed from Miami county, Ohio, with his fathers family in 1845 and had since lived on the same farm and in the same house where the family settled when they first came to the State. He was widely known and respected and his death will be mourned by a large circle of friends. He leaves a widow and three children in comfortable circumstances.
Deceased was a brother of Mr. George Widney, of Morris. The cause of his death was complicated bowel difficulty and he suffered greatly from Saturday morning, when he was taken sick, until the time of his death.
Mr. Widney was a member of Blaney Commandery, No. 5, Knights Templar, and the funeral was conducted with the solemn and impressive ceremonies of this order from his late residence on Thursday forenoon at 10:20. The remains were laid at rest in the Walley cemetery.
