Benjamin7 Whitney (Lemuel6, Joshua5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), born Springfield, Vermont, 1774; married in Essex, New York, Betsey Bragg, born 1772; died 22 May 1857. Benjamin Whitney moved from Springfield to the town of Essex, New York, about 1810 and engaged in farming. He died 20 Mar 1827; resided Springfield, Vermont, and Wadhams Mills, New York.

i. Alexander8 Whitney, born 21 Jun 1798; married Sophronia Streeter.
ii. Phinehas Whitney, born 25 Dec 1800; he died 28 Nov 1866.
iii. Lucius Whitney, born 29 Feb 1804; married Thankful French and Minerva Smith.

v. Benjamin F. Whitney, born -----; married Lovina Hodgkin and Mrs. Mary Viall; Sayre. He died 2 Mar 1879.
