He Robert Ward's writeup shows several alternate possibilities for the birth of this man. In addition to the York, York entry, he also includes Brunswick, Cumberland, ME (same date) and 2 Jun 1725, York [which could possibly be a baptism].

He owned a farm and the first grist mill in Lisbon (Falls), Androscoggin, Maine.. He resided in 1752 York, Maine He (was a) petitioner for protection during the French and Indian War on 22 apr. 1755 Kennebec River, Maine Jean Brown was also known as Jane Brown. Jean Brown was born circa 1731 at of Georgetown, Maine She died circa 1751. She was also known as Jane Brown. She Since no marriage date is given, just the publishing of banns, it is possible to surmise that either this woman died before the marriage took place, or, if it did take place, then soon after -- because Benjamin then married Mercy Hinckley in July of 1752.

There were no children of Benjamin⁴ and Jean (Brown) Whitney.

Mercy Hinckley was born on 7 Oct 1734 at York, Maine She was born on 23 Oct 1734 at York, Maine She was born on 23 Oct 1734 at Brunswick, Maine She died on 13 Nov 1814 at Lisbon Falls, ME, at age 80. She was buried at Lisbon, Maine She was also known as Mary. She Robert Ward gives several alternatives for her birthdate; 7 Oct 1734 York, 23 Oct 1734 Brunswick, and 23 Oct 1734 York, this latter would come from the Groves book on "The Hinckleys of Maine."
