David Whitney, parentage unknown, born circa 1791, Monmouthshire or 1795, Herefordshire.

He married, first, Mary (-----). Mary Whitney, of "Trilay", Llangwm, died 17 Mar 1841, age 60.

He married, second, sometime before 1849, Hannah -----. She was born circa 1808, Llanbaddoc, Monmouthshire, Wales.

In 1841, he was listed as a farmer, residing at "Terlay" in Llangwm.

In 1851, he was listed as a "farmer of 45 acres", residing at "Tyrlay" in Llangwm.
