15. Lemuel4 Durrell (Benmore3, Joseph2, Philip1) was born about 1758. He married first Mary ____, who was living on 25 January 1796 when she and Lemuel signed a deed (Strafford County Deeds, 20:512). He married second, at Rochester, New Hampshire, 16 Nov 1806, Patience Hanson of Rochester ("First Congregational Church Records, Rochester, N. H., New Hampshire Genealogical Record, 5 [1908]: 117). For many years he resided in Danville, but later went to Craftsbury. He died at Craftsbury and is buried in the cemetery at Craftsbury Common. His tombstone bears the inscription, "Lieut. Lemuel Durrell, died Dec. 6. 1812, aet. 55."

  1. Asa5, lived at Walden, Vt. during his youth. When a young man he settled at Norfolk, St. Lawrence Co., N. Y. He m. Elizabeth Whitney, who d. at Abbotsford, P.Q., Canada, 10 Jan. 1868. He d. at Potsdam, N. Y., 13 Dec. 1864. [snip]

17. John4 Durrell (Benmore3, Joseph2, Philip1) was born probably at Durham, New Hampshire. He married at Fairfield, Maine, 29 September 1798, Rachel Emery, born at Fairfield, January or February 1777; she died at Skowhegan, Maine, 5 Nov. 1857; the daughter of Jonathan4 (James3, Jonathan2, John1) and Jerusha (Barron) Emery.
John Durrell lived at Durham where his name appears on the tax rolls of 1789 and 1793. He lived in Fairfield, Maine, for several years and then went to Skowhegan, where he died in April, 1835.

20. Charles Perry9 Rutherford (Mary Bolter8, John7, Thomas6-5-4-3-2, Richard1) was born in Calhoun County, Illinois, on 29 November 1847. On 20 August 1873, in Grant County, Oregon, he married Malinda Frances Moffet, daughter of William Fountain and Nancy Jane (Stice) Moffet, who was born at Vancouver, Washington Territory, on 11 April 1855. He died at Spokane, Washington, 22 May 1932. She died at Woodland, California, 1 May 1937, and was buried at Spokane.

  1. William Robert, b. 2 July 1878, 18 miles below Susanville, Grant Co., Ore. He m. (1) Neva Jessie Whitney, ca. July 1905 at Chitwood, Lincoln Co., Ore. She d. in Aug. or Sept. 1908 at Portland, Ore.; m. (2) Ida Evelyn Goyne (b. 30 Dec. 1888 at Tillamook) at Tillamook, Tillamook Co., Ore., 11 Aug. 1910; d. 30 Apr. 1955 at Long Beach, Cal.
