- 122. Relief was the first cousin of Thomas's first wife, Abigail Wilder. Her two marriages are supported by the two preceding footnotes. That she was the daughter Relief born to Nathaniel and Mary Wilder is based on Rev. Frederick Weiss's manuscript in the Lancaster Town Library: Early Families of Lancaster (see children of Nathaniel4 Wilder): "Relief, bapt L., Sept. 12, 1731; (m. L. May 5, 1772, Giles Wills)." Bennett Davenport called her the "wid. of 1st wife's brother", perhaps thinking of Relief (Whitney) Wilder, Abel's wife, but Abel was still alive until 1831.
