Attleborough was former from Rehoboth (North Purchase) in 1694. Its boundary with Rehoboth was adjusted in 1710. In 1747, part was split off as Cumberland, RI. In 1830, part was given to Wrentham. In 1887, North Attleborough was formed from part of it. Attleborough was renamed Attleboro in 1914.
