Alvina D.7 Whitney (Luther6, Daniel5, Abel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), was born 21 Mar 1843, Thorndike, ME, and died 9 Jul 1920, Unity, ME.
She married, 31 Dec 1862, Daniel Gordon, Jr, son of Daniel and Ann (Hanson) Gordon. He was born 30 Apr 1836, Thorndike, ME, and died 17 Nov 1906, Thorndike, ME.
Alvina is also found as Alice D. and Allia D. Whitney.
Daniel Gordon was a teacher, carpenter, and Civil War veteran. He was a Private in Co. G, 9th & Co. I, 31st Maine Infantry. He applied for a pension for his service, but he did not receive a certificate or pension.

i. William B. Gordon, b. 19 Mar 1865, Thorndike, ME; d. 5 Feb 1895, Salem, MA. ii. Clara Bell Gordon, b. Jun 1869, Thorndike, ME; d. 2 Apr 1952; m. 18 Dec 1895, Brooks, ME, Percy W. Crosby, the son of William and Yancy (Pendleton) Crosby. He was b. 2 Oct 1864, Unity, ME; d. 7 May 1951, Unity, ME. Both are buried in Farwell Cemetery, Unity, ME.
