Clarissa Maria Whitney (Daniel), daughter of Daniel and Arvilla (Marsh) Whitney, was born 28 Mar 1835, Hounsfield, Jefferson Co., NY, and died before 1900, probably St. Paul, Ramsey Co., MN.

She married 19 Sep 1859, Peter S. Larock, parentage unknown. He was born Jan 1836, Canada, and died Los Angeles Co., CA.

Peter and Clarissa (Clara) removed to WI about 1861 where Peter enlisted and fought in the Civil War 1862-1865. He worked for the railroad in Portage, WI and removed to Shakopee & St. Paul, MN, while working for the railroad. In 1900, Peter and his daughter-in-law Carrie (Smith) Larock were living in Clark Co., WA, and listed as a windower and widow respectively. Clarissa and their son Daniel may have been victims of the 1899-1900 Russian influenza epidemic.
