James E. Whitney (James), son of James Montford and Charlotte E. (Adams) Whitney, was born circa 1854, TN, and died after 1920.
He married, 20 Feb 1879, Fayette Co., TN, Ada E. Stafford. She was born about 1859, TN, and died after 1920.
In 1900 it is noted that Ada is the mother of four children, three living.
