John J. Whitney, parentage unknown but perhaps the John Whitney, son of Patrick and Johana (-----) Whitney, was born circa 1828, MD, and died before 1880.

He married Mary Turner. She was born circa 1833, WV, and died probably McKeesport, Allegheny Co., PA.

Mary Turner Whitney and her son James moved to McKeesport, Allegheny Co., PA sometime after James was born in 1871 and 1880.

i.	John William Whitney, b. 27 Oct 1861, MD, m. Margaret Virginia Moore. Ch: Catherine Genevieve Whitney, b. 8 Sep 1888, MD.
ii.	James Patrick Whitney, b. 7 Dec 1871, Hagerstown, Washington Co., MD, d. 10 May 1930, McKeesport, Allegheny Co., PA.
