Submit Ellen "Nellie" Whitney (Stover6, Benjamin5, Benjamin4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), was born 05 Sep 1837, Bowdoin, ME, and died 11 Feb 1890.
She married firstly, 27 Jan 1867, Topsham, ME, William A. Walker, son of Nathan and Sophia (Dore) Walker. He was born 29 Sep 1830, Strafford, NH, and died 03 June 1864, Spotsylvania Courthouse, VA.
William A. Walker was a Private in Co. D, 5th Maine Infantry in the Civil War. He was killed by a rebel sharpshooter at the the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse in VA. He is buried in the Cold Harbor National Cemetery, Mechanicsville, VA, and is memorialized on the grave marker of his son Dunham in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, ME.
Nellie (Whitney) Walker m. secondly Charles Barstow Smith, son of Elias and Elmira (Curtis) Smith, 8 Sep 1867 in Brunswick, ME. Charles B. Smith was b. 9 Sep 1841, Hallowell, ME and d. 11 Mar 1905, Bath, ME. He had m. firstly Annie E. Curtis, who d. 10 Jan 1864. With her he had three children:

Charles E. Smith, b. 10 Aug 1862
Willard E. Smith, b. 14 Jan 1863
Charles was a Blacksmith and a Corporal in Co. C, 21st Maine Infantry in the Civil War. He received a pension for his service. He and nellie had on daughter, Flora M. Smith, b. 19 May 1873 in Hallowell, ME. She m. Lewis A. Langmaid.
