William Lewis9 Whitney (Charles W.8, Samuel7, Lyman6, Samuel5, Samuel4, Richard3, John2, Henry1), son of Charles W.8 and Lila (Smith) Whitney, was born 25 Jul 1877, Mount Pleasant, MO, and died 5 Dec 1959, Cleveland, OH.[1]

He married firstly, 25 Jul 1900, Cuyahoga Co., OH, Mabel R. Eaton,[2] daughter of John T. and Martha (Reublin) Eaton. She was born 27 Jul 1879, Cleveland, OH, and died 3 Feb 1934, Parkview, OH.[3]

He married secondly, 31 Jul 1935, Cuyahoga Co., OH, Bertha (Tornow) Davis,[4] daughter of Frederick and Lena (Peters) Tornow. She was born 27 Apr 1881, Cleveland, OH, and died 1 Apr 1960, Cleveland, OH.[5] William and Bertha had no known children.

i. Dorotha Lila10 Whitney, b. 3 Jun 1901, Cleveland, OH; d. 30 Aug 1997, Elyria, OH; unmarried.
ii. Alice Elizabeth Whitney, b. 14 Jul 1902, Cleveland, OH; m.(1) Thomas G, Hart, m.(2) ----- Merritt; d. 4 Jul 1995, Elyria, OH.
