Family:Cody, Sarah (1756-1829)

Sarah Cody (Mary Whitney⁴, Mark³, Benjamin², John¹), daughter of Joseph, Jr., and Mary⁴ (Whitney) Cody, was born 7 Dec 1756, Hopkinton, MA,^[1] and died 1829, Ontario County, NY.^[2]

She married firstly, 17 May 1781, Hopkinton, MA, William Fanning, son of James and Anne (-----) Fanning. He was born circa 1758, Hopkinton, MA, and died 1787, Peru, MA.

She married secondly, after 1790, James Lewis. He was born say 1756.

Children of William and Sarah (Cody) Fanning, all born Peru, MA:

i.	Sarah Fanning, b. 27 Dec 1781; d. 14 Nov 1844, Clarksfield, OH; m. circa 1797, Naples, NY, Stephen W. Post.
ii.	William Fanning, b. 22 Mar 1784; d. 17 Jul 1864, Jerusalem, NY; m.(1) 23 Oct 1810, Rushville, NY, Lydia Gilbert; m.(2) 12 Feb 1824, Catherine Collins.
ii.	James Fanning, b. 13 Aug 1786; d. 6 Jun 1827, Gorham, NY; m. 2 Jan 1809, Mohawk Valley, NY, Sarah Westbrook.

Children of James and Sarah (Cody) Lewis, both born Ontario County, NY:

i.	----- Lewis, b. before 1800; d. after 1810.
ii.	Asenath Lewis, b. between 1800 and 1810; m. circa 1825, James Stanton.
