Family:Cunningham, Albert Bert (1897-1966)

Albert Bert⁹ Cunningham (Lewis R.⁸, Albert⁷, Rufus⁶, Tarball⁵, Solomon⁴, David³, Joshua², John¹.), son of Louis R.⁸ and Daisy G (Husted) Whitney,^[1] was born 7 Sep 1897, Greendale, Midland, MI, and died Jul 1966, Owosso, Shiawassee, MI.^[2]

He married 2 Dec 1916, St. Johns, Clinton, MI, Viola Azella Williams^[3], daughter of Jackson M. and Sarah Jane (Brasee) Williams. She was born Oct 1891 Gratiot, MI.

They lived primarily in St. Johns, North Star, and Owosso, Michigan.

Prior to Bert's parents divorce on 7 July 1900, Thomas E. and Lillian A.(Douglas) Cunningham took guardianship and raised him from very early childhood. Although never adopted by the Cunningham's, he assumed their last name. He was listed on the Return of Births for Greendale, Midland, MI, by last name only. He is listed on the 1900 census as living with the Cunningham's. After his marriage to Viola, Bert went to work on the William's farm in Northstar, Gratiot Co. and eventually moved into the farm house. They later settled in Owosso.
