He enlisted at Portland, ME, 30 Sep 1861. Lived at Eades Falls, Naples, ME, where he was a farmer, before enlisting. He was discharged 8 May 1863 at Portland. After discharge he lived in Standish until 1873, and in Boston, MA, until 1893, in Dover, NH, until 1900, and in Revere, MA, until 1905, then in Boston. He was a house painter. He was 5 ft, 9 inches tall, 138 lbs., blue eyes, gray hair at time of application. Dark complexion.
Service Record: Co. E, 10th Maine Infantry. Enlisted 30 Apr 1861, and was discharged 8 May 1863. Co. K, 1st D.C. Cavalry, enlisted 9 Dec 1863. Transferred from DC Cavalry to 1st Maine Cavalry in Sep 1864, discharged 27 Aug 1864. He was a prisoner of war, taken at Sycamore Church 16 Sep 1864, and released 6 Jul 1865. He was never married. Died 13 Jun 1931, 472 Pleasant Street, Melrose, MA.
