Abigail⁴ Whitney (Benjamin³, John², John¹), daughter of Benjamin³ and Abigail (Hagar) Whitney, was born 3 May 1688, Watertown, MA,^[1] and baptized 10 Jul 1698, Watertown, MA.

Abigail married, 18 Mar 1716/7, Watertown, MA, Richard Sawtell "both of Watertown",^[2] son of Enoch and Susanna (Randall) Sawtell. He was baptized 21 Apr 1689, Watertown, MA.

He helped regulate swine on 3 Mar 1717/8, Watertown, MA.

She and Richard Sawtell lived before 1743 at Waltham, MA, and after 1748 at Bolton, MA.

On 20 Oct 1760, Bolton, MA, administration granted on his estate.

In 1783, Bolton, MA, her dower third of the estate of her husband was distributed.

Pierce says the following:^[3]

ABIGAIL [WHITNEY], b. Mar. 3, 1688; m. Mar. 18, 1717, Richard SAWTEL; bap. Apr. 21, 1689. Ch.: John, b. and d. 1717; Abigail, b. Apr. 12, 1719; m. May 12, 1743, Benjamin HASTINGS.

iii.	Henry Sawtell, b. between 1720 and 1721; m. Sarah Harrington.
iv.	Enoch Sawtell, b. circa 1723, Waltham, MA; m. Bethia Bond.
v.	Sarah Sawtell, b. circa 1725, Waltham, MA; m. William Sawyer.
vi.	Hannah Sawtell, b. circa 1726; m. Jonas Whitcomb.
vii.	Ruth Sawtell, b. circa 1729; m. John Richardson.
