Abigail4 Whitney (Joseph3, Jonathan2, John1), daughter of Joseph3 and Rebecca (Burge) Whitney,[1] was born 5 Mar 1706/7, Chelmsford, MA,[2] but her date and place of death are unknown.

She married 4 Jan 1728/9, Chelmsford, MA, Thomas Harwood "of Dunstable,[3] son of William and Esther (Perry) Harwood.[4] He was born 26 Jun 1706, Dunstable, MA,[5] and died after his will was written, 23 May 1787.[6]

On 4 Jul 1757, Thomas Harwood of Dunstable, N.H., innholder, was appointed guardian of John, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Benjamin, and Lucy, all minors under 14, children of James Whitney, late of Dunstable, deceased, and posted bond with William Angier of Cambridge as surety. On 23 Oct 1760, petition of John and Jonathan Whitney, choosing Thomas Harwood of Dunstable as their guardian. On 5 Mar 1764, Thomas Harwood of Dunstable, N.H., innholder, was appointed guardian of John and Jonathan Whitney, over 14, sons of James Whitney late of Dunstable, deceased, and posted bond with William Angier of Cambridge, gentleman, as surety.[7]

On 27 Aug 1764, petition by Thomas Harwood, guardian for four minor children, and Isaac Powers, that Joseph Danforth, Abraham Kendall, and Samuel Taylor of Dunstable, and Joseph Senter and Joseph Whiting of New Hampshire, be appointed to apprise the real estate of James Whitney, late of Dunstable, decd.report of commissioners, that estate not be divided, but all estate is set to the oldest son, James Whitney; countersigned by Thomas Harwood, guardian.[8]

He made a will 23 May 1787, Dunstable, MA, which mentions no children.[9]

Thomas and Abigail4 (Whitney) Harwood had no children.
