Alpheus7 Whitney (Hananiah6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Hananiah6 and Azubah (Keyes) Whitney, was born 29 May 1794, Winchendon, MA.[1] He died after 1836, when his son Joseph was conceived, but probably before 1840, when he cannot be found in the census.

He married, say 1823, Abigail Cox, daughter of Joseph and Abigail (Wyman) Cox. She was born about 1 Apr 1800, Waltham or Weston, MA, and died 25 Nov 1863, Dana, MA, aged 63 years 7 months 24 days, of consumption.[2] She married secondly, (int. 23 Aug 1845, Waltham, MA[3]) 9 Sep 1845, Dana, MA, Thomas Stimpson, widower, son of James and Sally (Bryant) Stimpson,[4] born 7 Sep 1764, Sudbury, MA, and died 7 Apr 1851, Dana, MA, aged 87 years, of old age.
