Alvin7 Whitney (Elisha6, Joshua5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Elisha6 and Esther (Clark) Whitney, was born 31 Dec 1793, Stockbridge, MA, and died 5 Nov 1872, Wysox, PA. He was buried in the Wysox Cemetery, Wysox, PA.

He married firstly, 11 Feb 1819, Mary Woodburn "of Rome, PA". She died 12 Feb 1847, Wysox, PA, aged 50 years. She was buried in the Wysox Cemetery, Wysox, PA.

He married secondly, 10 Mar 1850, Nancy Woodburn "of Rome", daughter of John and Nancy (Whitman) Woodburn. She was born about 1804, and died after 1870, probably before 1880.

"Alvin, b. Dec. 31, 1793, engaged in farming and lumbering in Wysox, died Nov. 5, 1872; married 1st, Feb. 11, 1819, Mary Woodburn, married 2nd, March 10, 1850, Nancy Woodburn. Children (all by former marriage) and marriages follow: Asa Clark never married; Sarah died at 12 years; Ellen never married; Andrew Jackson to Olive A. Maynard; Mary H. never married; Charles Carroll to Margaret Vought; Allen Dorrance never married; Emily V. to Dr. Wm. Rice."[1]
"Alvin Whitney, born Dec. 31, 1793, married Mary Woodburn, of Rome, Pa., Feb. 11, 1819; and to Nancy Woodburn, of Rome. By first with had eight children; died Nov. 5, 1872."[2]

i. Asa Clark8 Whitney, b. 1819; d. 1889; buried Wysox Cemetery, Wysox, PA; insane; never married.
ii. Sarah T. Whitney, b. 10 Aug 1824; d. 25 Mar 1837, aged 12 years 6 months 16 days. She was buried in Wysox Cemetery, Wysox, PA.
iv. Andrew Jackson Whitney, b. 2 Jan 1829; m. Olive A. Maynard.
iii. Ellen Whitney, b. ca. 1830; never married.
v. Charles Carroll Whitney, b. 15 Dec 1832; m. Margaret Vought.
vi. Mary H. Whitney, b. ca. 1834; never married.
vii. Allen Dorrance Whitney, b. 1835; d. 1902; never married.
viii. Emily Victorine Whitney, b. 4 Jun 1839; d. 6 Nov 1920; m. 1 May 1862, Bradford Co., PA, Dr. William O. Rice.

Alvin7 and Nancy (Woodburn) Whitney had no children.
