Family:Whitney, Amos Buck (1831-a1880)

Amos Buck⁸ Whitney (John⁷, Daniel⁶, Abijah⁵, Daniel⁴, Henry³, John², Henry¹), son of son of John⁷ and Lucinda (Lovell) Whitney, was born 22 Sep 1831, Enfield, NY, and died after 1880.

He married, 16 Oct 1851, Hector, NY, Mary Taylor, daughter of William A. and Cynthia (Vail) Taylor. She was born 8 Feb 1833, Newfield, NY, and died after 1880.

They settled at Newfield; moved to Bolivar, NY, thence to Wellsville, NY, from there to Van Etten, NY, and finally (in Apr 1876) to Barton, NY. He enlisted at Newfield, 28 Dec 1863, in Company M, 21st Regiment, New York State Light Cavalry; and was discharged at Denver, CO, in 1866.
