Buren Sherman8 Whitney (Alanson7, Samuel6, David5, Matthias4, Cornelius3, Joshua2, John1), son of Alanson7 Delaney (Young) Whitney, was born 14 May 1883, Waverly, IA, and died 1 Sep 1967, Tampa, FL.

He married, 1908, Lula LaVern Strunk.

Buren was sometimes known as Sherman. Buren, sometimes known as Sherman, was working as a bookkeeper in the Pullman commissary, El Paso, TX in 1910. Renting a home, he and Lula have been married 2 years, no children. Before 1914, they moved to Denver, Colorado where they were living at the time of the 1920 census. He was working as a traveling salesman. WW I draft registration: address, 826 E. 10 St., Pueblo, Colo. Age 35, natural born May 14, 1883. Manager of Sunville Baking Co, 10th & Summit, Pueblo, Colo. Nearest relative: Lula LaVern Whitney. Medium height, medium build, brown eyes, dark hair, no disabilities. Signed Buren Sherman Whitney, Sept. 12, 1918, Pueblo, Colorado. 1930 census Omaha, Nebraska, B. Sherman is now the manager of a baking company.

SSDI and the Florida Death Index both say he died in September 1967 Tampa, Hillsborough Co, FL. Unable to find Lula on a death index.

Children of Buren Sherman8 and Lula LaVern (Strunk) Whitney, if any, unknown.
