Caleb5 Whitney (Timothy4, John3, John2, John1), son of Timothy4 and Margaret (Bacon) Whitney, was born 2 Apr 1711, Roxbury, MA,[1] and died before 11 Jun 1764, Newton, MA.[2]

Caleb married, 15 Apr 1736, Newton, MA, Hannah Cheney,[3] daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Wiswall) Cheney.[4] She was born 13 Jun 1711, Newton, MA,[5] and died after 2 May 1765.[6]

On 11 Jun 1764, Newton, MA, Caleb Whitney, cordwainer of Newton, was appointed administrator of the estate of his father, Caleb Whitney, late of Newton, deceased, and posted bond, with Joseph Whitney, yeoman, and Moses Whitney, yeoman, both of Newton, as sureties.

On 22 Jun 1764, Newton, MA, his inventory was taken by Thomas Greenwood, Ebenezer Parker, and Thomas Marceonn[?].

On 2 May 1765, Newton, MA, divison of his estate was made: to widow Hannah, eldest son Caleb, Thaddeus, Hannah, and Sarah; made by Abr. Fuller, Ebenezer Parker, and John Wilson.

On 14 May 1765, Newton, MA, an adminstration account was recorded.[7]

His two sons served in the Revolutionary army in a company raised in Newton.

iv. Thaddeus Whitney, b. 10 Jul 1747;[13] m. Temperance Hyde.
